Since joining DMI in 2020, Normann Copenhagen has brought a distinctly Danish point of view to our collection - one shaped by courage, quality and responsibility, and by a belief that great design should make everyday life feel more considered.
Founded in Denmark in 1999 by Jan Andersen and Poul Madsen, Normann Copenhagen is an international design brand rooted in Danish traditions. Its collection spans furniture, lighting and home accessories, and is defined by clean lines with a playful twist, crafted with a strong emphasis on quality and durability. That balance of restraint and character sits at the heart of the brand's identity, and is part of what makes it such a valued partner.
For story 8, we turn to the Bit Stool, designed by Simon Legald in 2021. Part of the wider Bit collection, the stool is made using a rotational moulding technique with recycled plastic and has a sculptural presence that feels both practical and expressive. It moves easily between seating, side table and pedestal, offering a versatility that feels especially relevant to the way people live and use their spaces today.
The latest additions to the Bit Stool range - Mustard, Burgundy and Grey - introduced a more interior-led palette, one that feels warmer, more tonal and easy to place within both private and professional spaces. In the wider Bit family, the original colourways established a graphic foundation through combinations such as White, Black, White Multi and Black Multi, while later forms such as Bit Stool Cone and Bit Stool Stack extended the range further across different shapes and colour pairings. Within that broader story, these latest Bit Stool colours bring a different character to the product: still expressive, but with a softer and more layered mood. Mustard adds earthy vibrancy, Burgundy brings depth and richness, and Grey offers a refined point of balance. Together, they strengthen the Bit story and make the range feel even more adaptable across contemporary interiors.
With Normann Copenhagen's minimal, natural settings, the Bit Stool creates a strong graphic presence. Its form and colour bring texture and character to the room, while the new palette adds a warmer, more tonal dimension to the story. It is this balance that makes Bit so compelling: useful, distinctive and expressive, with a presence that feels both considered and enduring.
